Writing a Procedure

These are all the materials we needed to  make a spinner.

We had photographs of all the stages needed to make a spinner.  We watched Ms Sholson make a spinner and then we wrote down the steps needed to make a spinner.

One of the most important things we learnt was to be very specific with our steps.  We could not write "it" because people would not know what "it" was.  We had to start each step with a verb, which would tell the reader what to do.

We then made a spinner, following the instructions we had written down.  It was very easy to see when we had not provided enough information, said exactly where to put things or been specific about the tools we needed to use.

At last though, most of us had success!  Look at our spinners spin!
