Maui and the Sun

In Room 9 we are learning to use interesting and technical vocabulary so that the reader can paint a picture in their mind.

We need to use:

  • adjectives
  • specific detail
  • technical languages
  • interesting words instead of 'said'
  • use punctuation like exclamation marks that helps to make our writing interesting
Here are some examples of our writing.

Maui and the sun

Maui the brave warrior was trying to eat his dinner in his little hut, but the sun went down.  Maui called his brothers to his little hut.  We have no time to eat and fish and hunt.  We need to slow the sun down.  So they wove flax ropes and caught the sun.  Now the sun goes slower so Maui and his brothers can eat and fish and have more time to hunt.
